Membean Quiz #1 - Reminders

Today, Mrs. Syes and I delivered to students the quiz that accompanies their first 2-week session of membean studying. We chose Tuesday in order to have our Vandy students in class, as they spend Mondays in the SSMV program.

If you missed today, please see me to reset the Membean quiz. You'll know if you have one, because it's a pop-up notification on your Membean dashboard when you sign in.

Also, in response to several student questions, as well as claims of, "But I didn't know!", I shared several details and reminders to students about the Membean program in the form of
this reminder Powerpoint.

HW:

  • Read, and Annotate Article 2 (this was assigned yesterday, but is really due on the Block Day)
  • NEW Membean Session: 9/24-10/9 Quiz=10/9

IFL: Article 1 - Adam Grant

There was a short 10-Question Reading Quiz on Article 1 today. It's on Schoology. If you missed it, please let me know when you'd like to make it up, and I can re-set it for you.

After the quiz, we discussed how we could identify the author's main idea as well what kinds of evidence he used to support it.

Yes, you can still bring cash or check to class.
HW:
  • Study for Lit Term Test tomorrow. You will be reading a NEW STORY in class. Remember: a portion of questions will be from the Summer Reading. Doing better on that portion of questions will override the previous SRA grade, but only upward. Grades will not be revised downward.
    • The SRA questions still count as a portion of the overall Lit Terms Test, so be sure to look back over Part-Time Indian and Speak before your block day this week.
